Thunderbird - A new and free email client from Mozilla

Why Thunderbird?
We aren't very big and can only support so much. Thunderbird is a mature and very robust email client for both Mac OS X and Windows. We want to support one email client that works in the broadest set of circumstances. Besides, it is free.
Why Thundedrbird and not Outlook Express that comes with Windows?
See above answer for "Why Thunderbird?". Also, VIRUS/WORMS/TROJAN HORSES are the other significant reason not to use Outlook. A significant number of "mass mailing" viruses are designed to use the Outlook address book.
What is Thunderbird?
Thunderbird is a free, open-source and cross-platform mail client for most operating systems including, but not limited to, Windows, Linux and Macintosh. It is based on the Mozilla codebase. It is a robust and easy to use client, similar to competing products like Outlook Express, but with some major advantages such as junk mail classification. Read more about the mail client at the Product Page.
Why should I use Thunderbird instead of other mail clients?
Mozilla Thunderbird makes e-mailing safer, faster and easier than ever before with the industry's best implementations of features such as intelligent spam filters, a built-in spell checker, extension support and much more.
Is Thunderbird free?
Yes! Thunderbird is open source software, meaning that anyone have the right download and use the program for free, and view and modify the source code under the terms of the license.
